In terms of your heat issues, do you have any spaces for extra fans on your case? You can pick up a standard 80mm case fan extremely cheap. Likewise, with your northbridge chipset, I take it that it doesn't have any cooling at the moment? Bolt a heatsink, and possibly a fan onto it. I would also try giving the whole box - fans, vents, corners of the case - a good dust out, and replace any overly long cables (IDE / power etc) with shorter ones to reduce the amount of space they occupy. You may also be able to tweak your BIOS settings a bit, depending on your mobo and components, and underclock everything until you have your heat / airflow issues sorted out.
